Assisi

The beautifull small town of Assisi, a few hundred meters above the fertile Umbrian plain and the high mountain of Subasio, is one of Christianity most beloved places for pilgrimage. It is mainly because here Saint Francis (1187-1226) was born and raised. The city is full of monuments for brother Frans and the people around him as the holy Clara.
