Bridget Sisters

The Hermitage of the Bridegettine nuns of the Most Holy Saviour. The convent is currently run by Bridgettine nuns, but Camaldoli has actually been inhabited by monks since the 5th century. The convent is situated 450 metres above sea levl and from there one has a breathtaking view over the city of Naples and far away on the horizon can be seen the island of Capri.

Istituto Piccole Ancelle Di Christo Re

The guesthouse is on the perimeter of the city centre with a full view over the Bay of Naples. It is more of a spiritual hotel than a convent. There is a chapel open to guests.

Naples is traditionally pizza hometown. Especially the pizza margherita, with mozzarella, tomato and basil, which represents the Italian flag colors of red, white and green. Very delicious and typical for the neighborhood is pasta with seafood (such as “spaghetti con le vongole ‘), fish soup (zuppa di pesce), fried fish (‘ frittura di pesce ‘). Among the desserts, one should mention pastiera pies, an Easter cake that can be found year round in bars and cafés, sfogliata and Baba.
